Thank y'all so much for supporting me on my journey! Many of you ask me how I stay motivated. This season you are about 2 watch me go through the hardest time since my journey started! You will see I am battling the beast still and I struggle just like y'all! You will watch me go down hill so fast and I'am oblivious 2 what is happening 2 me! This season was the hardest for me! You will watch me start out in a storm that turns into a tornado 2 a hurricane 2 an earthquake that shakes me so hard that I believe I will never get back up! The question I leave y'all with is....DO I GET BACK UP? CAN WE ALL GET BACK UP AFTER FALLING SO HARD?

All of your emails and post that ask me: "Ruby how do you stay motivated?" or "Ruby I can't do this?" or "Ruby I can't beat this, I am trying, but I can't beat this!" or "Ruby, how can I get help, where do I find help, how can I help myself?"......etc... the list goes on and you are about to find out that I am walking with all of you as you are with me! All the answers to your questions will be answered for y'all in my shame, in my failing, in my blindness to people and myself. In this shame, failure, blindness I SAW ME!! It may sound strange to a lot of people, but sometimes it takes sinking to truly find our truth!!! I am sorry if during my failure I let y'all down! Trust me I let myself down worse!!! God as my witness, your questions will be answered through this season!

It matters what people may not have, the ones who do not have a home, or food, or warmth, or family or friends. Reach out your hands and be someone's friend and family today.

If you feel alone today! You are not alone! Break the cycle today and make that phone call, email or walk into a place and find a friend. There are places all over with people waiting to love and help you.

I wish it was as simple as dieting/eating healthy & exercising! IT IS NOT!

A LIGHT BULB WENT OFF IN MY HEAD LIKE NEVER BEFORE:

We have to find out what we are really feeding emotionally, mentally, spiritually through the food, drugs and alcohol etc...

What is your drug of choice?

For the morbidly obese and the anorexic its food!

For the drug addict it is drugs!

For the alcoholic it is alcohol!

For the smoker it is tobacco!

The addiction list goes on!

Now lets look at the similarities?

They all are feeding something into our bodies.

They all feel good at the moment and give temporary pleasure.

They all help us NOT to exist for a period of time.

They can all be genetic.

They take CONTROl over every part of us destroying present and future relationships, families, and cause financial problems, etc..

They destroy us and kill our spirits and then eventually kills us.

They usually begin from something traumatic happening to us in life.

The list goes on, but my point is that these are definitely the same and we are all fighting to beat our addiction.

The drug for the food addict is the easiest to access. Our drug of choice is always within our reach!

We are in the fight for our life! We will not crumble and die. We will continue to fight this and win daily! Please do not worry about tomorrow take this beast face to face one day at a time.

For the ones that read Marie Claire article or any articles like this....

when I was interviewed I was asked how I felt when I read it and I responded:

My heart was broken and I felt like someone had put a knife through my heart, because this completely goes against the message I am trying to send out that this is an addiction. I fight this every single days and some days every single second!!!

I tell everyone do not let your shell define who you are and to get out of your house and live your life. Words written or spoken like these cut like a knife and cause people 2 run and hide, makes people feel more of an outcast and like they are not accepted in a world they are supposed to be living in. So what happens is...they become shut ins and allow their beast to become bigger.

It has become an epidemic in the US and other countries and children now are suffering from this 2. Think about it, what is the first thing a child can get their hands on 2 medicate themselves with "FOOD"!

When you hear or read things like this it only gives fuel for bullies and people to be meaner/hateful to people who they feel do not fit into society. This only creates hate and haven't we seen enough repercussions from hate of religions, races, relationships, etc...

I am begging everyone who has a voice to stop tearing people down and giving others ammunition 2 destroy and hurt someone else's life.

Please, please use your voice for the good, love, understanding, forgiveness, etc...

We are a hurting world!

Clinics, broken homes, media, the suicide rates w/ adults & children,

the economy is bad, but look how much money we put out for our substance of choice etc...

What happen 2 me:

I went on vacation & went through a lot during our breaks. Even though I watched what I ate I ended up losing & gaining 21 pounds & hated myself 4 it! I am sorry ya'll! One thing I found out through all of this is I am really healing! Instead of me continuing 2 gain weight & beating myself up 2 much I got back on track! I am sorry 2 let ya'll down, but I need ya'll 2 know my truth. I am so back on track & Dr. Jane said, "Ruby this is part of recovery. We fall, we fail, but recovery is when U can get back on track!" YAY!!! Ya'll just because I shoot a show pls remember I am shooting my truth! I WILL NEVER LIE 2 ANY OF U! My truth is I am battling the biggest beast in my life. I got right back in the ring! I am ready 2 finish this once & for all! I am mad at this beast! HE will not win! We are filming right now & I can't give away 2 much. :O(I can tell U we have 2 take baby steps & start over even if we mess up! I learned when I vacation & go out 2 eat 2 always add 300 calories 2 every 1 of my meals. When U R on 1200 to 1500 a day calorie intake & vacationing that is tough. Think about it that is already 900 calories X out! Lordy! I did find out we must workout every time we vacation or we R home. If we work out we will not gain weight. Make sure UR moving daily for 45 mins 2 an hr. If we do we will maintain our weight or lose more. It can be something WE love, love, love 2 do. Dancing, riding a bike, walking, tennis, ping pone, etc... we must keep moving! We unfortunately never get a vacation this is our addiction & we must stay on top or it. Pls learn by my mistake. The great news is I am doing great again & it has made me mad enough 2 beat this. WE always have 2 be aware!! This is a daily fight 4 me& there R times I feel like I WILL NEVER BEAT THIS! Life is so hard, economy is tough. We R fighting 2 survive this thing call LIFE! One day we wake up not from sleep, but from a place so deep you can't describe where you've been, all you know you've awaken to find U R being controlled by a substance, person, ghost from UR past, etc.. & there R 2 things WE will end up doing, WE will either numb ourselves 2 avoid our situation or we will fight & overcome. One thing we all must remember, numbing & avoiding is 4 a moment & in that 1 moment we can crumble & die mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically.
I read many of ur emails/ letters. There is severe pain in this world. Hurt so deep U can't breathe because U feel no one cares, loves, values or appreciates U. Many have lost someone fr natural death, freak accidents, unexpectedly. WE have lost a parent, sibling, husband, wife, child, pet, friend, UR soul mate, & the pain is so deep that it cuts us like a knife! The only thing WE want 2 do is not feel, because if WE let OURSELVES feel this pain 1 second WE may lose OUR mind. Some ofUS have lost OUR jobs, homes & do not know where OUR next meal will come from. Young people R fighting 2 be accepted,2 be loved, 4 someone to hear OUR secret cry 4 love. The strange thing is I find we all have something/ someone weR fighting. We all fight a beast the wealthy, the unwealthy, healthy, the unhealthy, child, teenager, adults, boy, girl, man, woman. The worse thing through all of this WE do not know who 2 trust, who will we open up 2 that will not abandon us, who can save us fr ourselves.
Lets remember the most important thing is to stop judging one another & hating each other because we look different, come from different backgrounds, etc...One thing God has taught me through His love is that we all are human beings, no one is better than this or that person. We all were born 4 a purpose & have a God given destiny. Every 1 of ya'll know what I am talking about. It is that place so deep in the heart that burns & burns, & when U find urself doing the very thing U were born2 do there is a peace that comes all over U & WE R the happiest WE'VE ever been. I am crawling right now, & there are times I want 2 never feel anything. I want 2 disassociate fr people & life. That is the old Ruby fightingw/ the new Ruby. I guess I am growing up!! But I will not STOP, I will not GIVE UP! I will move, because not moving means I am frozen by fear. I will not let fear stop me; not fear of the past, present or future. I will fight every single day & some days I will crawl like a baby, some days I will take baby steps, other days I will take giant leaps! Guess what, I will keep going because as long as I crawl, step, leap I will get to the finish line. 2 my God given destiny!
I am finding out childhood is the core of who we R. We must face it & deal w/ it. Once we do, it will no longer chain us in the past w/ hurt, fear, hate or guilt. All this does is keep us in bondage. It is time to see hope, love and peace! This will lead us to light, and the light will be the path to the other side: our freedom, our destiny!
I promise you: The biggest thing I have learned on my journey is that there are more great people out there than bad! I am flabbergasted by the humanity y'all have shown to me and to each other. YOU, MY FRIENDS, ARE THE MIRACLE IN ALL OF THIS!

1. DO NOT wait until tomorrow, because tomorrow will NEVER come—or it may come 10 years later. Start this very second. Start breaking your addiction right now, start your dream right now! If you mess up, start over again right then and your mistake will be erased. If you stay in your mistake, beat yourself up and continue, it will turn into repercussions that could last a lifetime. Write down everything you drink and eat in a notebook or journal.

2. I do have bad days when the addiction tries to take me over again, again and again. I tell myself that one moment of pleasure is not worth the aftereffects. That one moment of feeling good is a lie from the pit of helicopter. That one moment of pleasure will put me in bondage! The biggest thing WE must do is reach out for help...make a call, text, email someone, call an 800 number. I have a new therapist,Dr. Jane Weilenman, who is helping me cross over. You have to talk and find out why you want that food, drug, person, alcohol that is KILLING YOU, YOUR FAMILY and YOUR RELATIONSHIPS! MAKE THE CALL! The hardest part of this journey for me is reaching out and doing this, but because I am, it is saving me! YAY!

3. Go to the doctor and find out how your health is, go get blood work, X-rays, etc. Stop avoiding—please do this! If my mother hadn't bugged me to death to go to the doctor, I would be dead by now. I had no idea I had diabetes, a liver with fatty tissue, cholesterol issues...I was dying because of diabetes. It is the silent killer! Please go get and get a checkup. Make the appointment today. If you can't afford it, there are free clinics out there that will help you!

4. My diet was Ourlife Fresh in the beginning and sometimes I still eat a meal plan it is not processed foods; it was created around diabetes, and I promise you it changed my palate! It taught me that there was a variety of healthy food out there I had no idea about. It taught me portion sizes. I went cold turkey on this for three to six months, and I give you my word: It was harder than helicopter at first, but now I love and crave healthy food! I know money is an issue for a lot of US!TRUST ME I KNOW!!! If you do not do something about your health now it will cost you more in Doctor bills, medications, hospital, remember diabetes is the silent killer!
I need to tell everyone this is not a competition every program that is trying to help people lose weight should be about the good of the people with this addiction and I believe they are. You have to do what is best for YOU and affordable for YOU! No matter if you do

5. We have to exercise: Walk, ride a bike, work out with a trainer, work out with your friends, dance, box! Start out easy. You could try 15-20 minutes more than you do now, and work up to 4-5 times a day. I KNOW I TELL Y'ALL THIS A LOT, BUT IT IS SO IMPORTANT:
Smile and say hi to a stranger, open the door for someone, think of the special people in your life who give their all to you daily! Say hi to a homeless person and watch out for who is lonely. There are people everywhere who do not have a roof over their head, people who are truly starving to death. Invite them over or just have coffee with them. There are so many lonely people who have no one to hug them or to say I love you! There are many without jobs. There are many who do not have an air condition in this heat wave or heater on a cold night!There are many out there dying from a disease or an addiction, and sometimes all they need is a hello or someone to talk to for just five minutes. Give someone a dollar, a hug, a big smile; make someone laugh; just say hello and give a helping hand, or grab their hand a say a prayer for them. It will change their lives more than you will ever know. You will help them believe they are special, because they truly are! You will make them believe in themselves and humanity. Remember, some of these people can be sitting right under our noses. Open your eyes and be aware! One day this could be us. Miracles happen every single day: A child is healed from cancer, someone gets a new and better job, someone is beating disease and addiction. Miracles, miracles, miracles!

I am getting a lot of emails from women telling me their struggles w/ their child that suffers from autism. They tell me how guilty they feel & that is why they eat, do not eat, drink, take drugs, etc... I need to say something to ya'll and pray 2 God you hear me IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT!! IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT!! IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT!! A lot of you write me and tell me you think you have a child like this because of something you did years ago, or you had an abortion, etc... Why some children are borned w/ handicaps and others born perfect can be many, many, many reasons. It is not a punishment from God! If God was punishing He would punish us all! None of us are blameless! My brother is mentally challenged because of an accident at birth, my niece is mentally challenge because of an accident at birth and at 4 had to have her arm amputated. My best friend has a child with aspergers & mild autism. I have seen guilt and pain beyond words because of this. I understand everything ya'll are saying 2 me. Instead of focusing on the negative lets focus on these children. They are a rare jewel! They love you with a love like you will never know, they teach US, they see our souls, these children can look through us 2 who we really are and love and accept all of us. I believe this is why they relate to animals more then humans. They talk in a language we can't relate to because they talk through their souls and that is all they see when they look at us! Can we give them the same? Can we learn from them? YES!! I know we can! We have so much help out there and we are getting more information daily about these angels. I know I say this a lot, but it is so important! I want us to think of others and show them love like we never have. Smile and say hi to a stranger, open the door for someone, think of the special people in your life who give their all to you daily! Say hi to a homeless person lend them a helping hand and watch out for who is lonely. There are people everywhere who do not have a roof over their head, people who are truly starving to death. Invite them over or just have coffee with them. Be patient when you see a child, teenager, etc... crying a lot or causing some kind of disturbance it could be a special child and the last thing a parent needs is more stress from a rude comment or look. There are so many lonely people who have no one to hug them or to say I love you! There are many without jobs. There are many out there dying from a disease or an addiction, and sometimes all they need is a hello or someone to talk to for just five minutes. Give someone a dollar, a hug, a big smile, make someone laugh, just say hello and give a helping hand, or grab their hand a say a prayer for them. It will change their lives more than you will ever know.You will help them believe they are special, because they truly are! You will make them believe in themselves and humanity. Remember, some of these people can be sitting right under our noses.Open your eyes and be aware! I went on vacation and went through a lot between our breaks and even though I watched what I ate I ended up losing & gaining 21 pounds and hated myself for it! I am sorry ya'll! One thing I found out through all of this is I am really healing! Instead of me continuing 2 gain weight & beating myself up 2 much I got back on track! I am sorry 2 let ya'll down, but I need ya'll 2 know my truth. I am so back on track and Dr. Jane said, "Ruby this is part of recovery. We fall, we fail, but recovery is when you can get back on track!" YAY!!!

Ya'll just because I shoot a show please remember I am shooting my truth! I WILL NEVER LIE 2 ANY OF YOU! My truth is I am battling the biggest beast in my life. I got right back in the ring and I am ready 2 finish this once and for all! I am mad at this beast and HE will not win!!!

We are filming right now and I can't give away 2 much.

We have to take baby steps and start over even if we mess up! My nutrients told me that when I vacation and go out 2 eat 2 always add 300 calories to everyone of my meals. When you are on 1200 to 1500 a day calorie intake and vacationing that is tough. Think about it that is already 900 calories X out! Lordy!

I did find out we must workout every time we vacation or we are home. If we work out we will not gain weight. Make sure we all are moving daily for 45 mins 2 an hr. If we do we will maintain our weight or lose more. It can be something you love, love, love 2 do. Dancing, riding a bike, walking, tennis, ping pone, etc... we must keep moving! We unfortunately never get a vacation this is our addiction and we must stay on top or it. Please learn by my mistake.

The great news is I am doing great again and it has made me mad enough 2 beat this. WE always have to be aware!! This is a daily fight for me and there are times I feel like I WILL NEVER BEAT THIS! Life is so hard, economy is tough. We are fighting to survive this thing call LIFE! One day we wake up not from sleep, but from a place so deep you can't describe where you've been, all you know you've awaken to find you are being controlled by a substance, person, ghost from your past, etc.. and there are two things you will end up doing, you will either numb yourself to avoid your situation or you will fight and overcome. One thing we all must remember, numbing and avoiding is for a moment and in that one moment we can crumble and die mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically.

I read many of your emails and letters. There is severe pain in this world. Hurt so deep you can't breathe because you feel no one cares, loves, values or appreciates you. Many have lost someone from natural death, freak accidents, unexpectedly. You have lost a parent, sibling, husband, wife, child, pet, friend, your soul mate, and that pain is so deep and it cuts us like a knife and the only thing you want to do is not feel, because if you let yourself feel this pain one second you may lose your mind. Some of you have lost your jobs, homes and do not know where your next meal will come from. Young people are fighting to be accepted, to be loved, for someone to hear your secret cry for love. The strange thing is I find we all have something or someone we are fighting. We all fight a beast the wealthy, the unwealthy, healthy, the unhealthy, child, teenager, adults, boy, girl, man, woman. The worse thing through all of this you do not know who to trust at all, who will we open up to that will not abandon us, who can save us from ourselves. Lets remember the most important thing is to stop judging one another and hating each other because we look different, come from different backgrounds, etc...

One thing God has taught me through His love is that we all are human beings, no one is better than this or that person. We all were born for a purpose and have a God given destiny. Everyone of ya'll know what I am talking about. It is that place so deep in the heart that burns and burns, and when you find yourself doing the very thing you were born to do there is a peace that comes all over you and you are the happiest you've ever been. I am crawling right now, and there are times I want to never feel anything. I want todisassociate from people and life.

That is the old Ruby fighting with the new Ruby. I guess you can say I am growing up!! But I will not STOP, I will not GIVE UP! I will move, because not moving means I am frozen by fear. I will not let fear stop me; not fear of the past, present or future. I will fight every single day and some days I will crawl like a baby, some days I will take baby steps and other days I will take giant leaps! Guess what, I will keep going because as long as I crawl, step, leap I will get to the finish line and to my God given destiny! I am finding out childhood is the core of who we are, and we must face it and deal with it. Once we do, it will no longer chain us in the past with hurt, fear, hate or guilt. All this does is keep us in bondage. It is time to see hope, love and peace! This will lead us to light, and the light will be the path to the other side: our freedom, our destiny!

I promise you: The biggest thing I have learned on my journey is that there are more great people out there than bad! I am flabbergasted by the humanity y'all have shown to me and to each other. YOU, MY FRIENDS, ARE THE MIRACLE IN ALL OF THIS! I have read a lot of your messages on

1. DO NOT wait until tomorrow, because tomorrow will NEVER come—or it may come 10 years later.

Start breaking your addiction right now,

start your dream right now!

If you mess up, start over again right then and your mistake will be erased. If you stay in your mistake, beat yourself up and continue, it will turn into repercussions that could last a lifetime.

Write down everything you drink and eat in a notebook or journal. I do have bad days, when the addiction tries to take me over again, again and again. I tell myself that one moment of pleasure is not worth the after effects. That one moment of feeling good is a lie from the pit of helicopter. That one moment of pleasure will put me in bondage! The biggest thing WE must do is reach out for help...make a call, text, email someone, call an 800 number. I have a new therapist, Dr. Jane Weilenman, who is helping me cross over. You have to talk and find out why you want that food, drug, person, alcohol that is KILLING YOU, YOUR FAMILY and YOUR RELATIONSHIPS! MAKE THE CALL!

The hardest part of this journey for me is reaching out and doing this, but because I am, it is saving me! YAY!

2. Go to the doctor and find out how your health is. Go get blood work, X-rays, etc. Stop avoiding—please do this! If my mother hadn't bugged me to death to go to the doctor, I would be dead by now. I had no idea I had diabetes, a liver with fatty tissue, cholesterol issues...I was dying because of diabetes. It is the silent killer! Please go get and get a checkup. Make the appointment today. If you can't afford it, there are free clinics out there that will help you!

3. My diet was Ourlife Fresh and sometimes I still eat the dinners because I do not have time to cook. It is not processed foods; it was created around diabetes, and I promise you it changed my palate! It taught me that there was a variety of healthy food out there I had no idea about. It taught me portion sizes. I went cold turkey on this for three to six months, and I give you my word: It was harder than helicopter at first, but now I love and crave the food! If you do not do something about your health now it will cost you more in Doctor bills, medications, hospital, remember diabetes is the silent killer!

I am so honored 2 be nominated for an Emmy! This is for us all! Thank you for your support, friendship, prayers and belief in me. My prayer, my passion was 2 bring a true face to obesity, anorexic, bulimia, drugs, alcohol. My biggest message was: Do not define yourself by the substance that has taken over you! You are more than that! Do not let the world define you by it either. It is harder for the obese because we are judged constantly because we are not able to hide behind anything. Our addiction is right in our faces.

We all need to remember just because a person has an addiction that has taken over them the person is not crazy or bad or flawed! They want help! A lot have lost hope after failing thousands of times. They are hurting and dying from their addiction and they are in physical, emotional and mental pain and feel hopeless. That is why they medicate in their own way! They need US to accept them, love them, help them by finding them help, don't judge them and most of all what they mostly need is someone to truly BELIEVE in them and through you BELIEVING in them they will start BELIEVING in themselves.

I am fighting every single day to beat this and take control over the thing that has had control over me forever. Some days the fight is severe and ya'll know what I am talking about. I refuse to give up or in to this! I have read where some of you say that you have given up. Stop saying that! Ya'll can not give up! Why would you give up on YOU! I am begging you not 2 give up! I've read where some of you are asking me what you should do. How to stay motivated/how to get started. First thing you must do is at the end of this letter I will leave links and I beg and plea with ya'll 2 pls click the links and ask for help, talk to someone, read what i did if that helps you!! I love every single one of ya'll and I will not give up on any of you!

I am happy because this nomination only means we will be bringing a true face to more people and will be able to help many, many more! I am thankful 2 God for all of you!

Hi My sweet friends,

There are so many of US who are in prison by our on mind, body and soul!

Who holds the key to let us out?

Who have we given the key to?

On the outside we are free, but in many ways we are imprisoned by our own hands.

Open your hands and look with the eyes of your soul and I promise you will find that the

key to release you from your own personal prison was always in YOUR hands!

What may be small to others are bigger 2 some.

What may be bigger to others may be small 2 some.

If it imprisons YOU it MATTERS! If it imprisons YOU IT MATTERS!

Words are so POWERFUL!

Be careful what you say 2 others, how you treat others, how you look at others.

Your words may give them the power to imprison themselves for a life time. Be careful to not

believe everything that people

say about you.

Be careful not 2 give them the POWER to IMPRISON YOU!

The truth is we ALL, we ALL, we ALL were born for a reason and have a PURPOSE!!!

but they are not meant to entrap us! Take responsibility and learn! Don't let your mind make you think it is the end because my friend it is never the end!

Your destiny waits before you it is your divine purpose. It's the reason you're here and the

only thing that will stop YOU from getting to the other side is YOUR MIND!!!

Fear only has the power we give it! I only speak from experience! Addictions form only

because we rather have an escape than face the road to our destiny! Because on the road to

our destiny WE ALL FAIL and failing is so hard for us! Guess what is the HARDEST... getting

out of YOUR addiction.

So what we thought was an easy escape, moment of pleasure to make us feel better for

failing or not facing our truth, pain, someone else's expectations, approval, parents, siblings,

friends, husband, wife, child, etc...has actually held us hostage!!!

I am sure we all could make our own list.

Chose today 2 free yourself. If you are so far into your addiction get help ask for help

GET FREE from it!

NOW IS THE TIME!

ASK FOR HELP! LOOK FOR HELP! GET OUT OF THE ADDICTION and please BELIEVE me

when I say, "YOU CAN NOT DO THIS ALONE!!!"

Pray, Pray, Pray then ask FOR HELP. It is all around you!

If your addiction is killing YOU, YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS, etc... go where YOU need to go and

get HELP!

YOUR DESTINY IS WAITING FOR YOU! DO NOT LET THE ADDICTION KILL YOU.

Ya'll I am just a baby in all of this still crawling , but I promised ya'll when I find truth

The Bible says, " we are self- deceivers"! I am ready to walk not crawl and my dream is for us all to know our worth and believe in ourselves, have our dreams and beat our beast if he is small,

medium or big!

own prison! Do not do what others have done to you. Do to others how you want to be

treated!

I can't wait for you to go through this part of the journey with me. We laugh so much!

We cry! Yes I still do crazy things LOL! After having severe nightmares, I go to the sleep clinic only to find that those visions could be lost memories. The search for my memories continues but I find more missing pieces to the

puzzle after I hire a private investigator. The PI tracks down a mysterious doctor from my

childhood who reveals many things to me and sheds a whole new light on my adolescence

and my family. I go into the deepest part of my soul and find out that is where all our truth

lies. Too many of us have lived on the surface for 2 long and hide behind every beast known

to man. I can't hide any longer. I must face my beast. You'll get a chance to watch how I

discover the true definition of addiction. You'll discover along with me what a food addict is

and where the root of addiction comes from; that my addiction is no different than analcoholics addiction, or a heroin addict only difference is that I still have to consume on a daily basis the very substance that could kill me.I am finding out the truth behind our habits, addictions, etc...why we always feel we are in an endless circle

and have NO WAY out! I looked up the word addiction in the dictionary and this is it's

meaning:

1. being abnormally tolerant to and dependent on something that is psychologically or

physically habit-forming

2. an abnormally strong craving

3. (Roman law) a formal award by a magistrate of a thing or person to another person.

a surrender to a master

Wow! Than I looked up denial:

1. the act of refusing to comply (as with a request)

2. the act of asserting that something alleged is not true

3. (psychiatry) a defense mechanism that denies painful thoughts

4. renunciation of your own interests in favor of the interests of others

5. a defendant's answer or plea denying the truth of the charges against him

When you start watching the show you will see why I looked up these 2 words

Myth #1: A person can quit if they really want to.

TRUTH:

Willpower has little to do with addiction. No amount of willpower alone can make

an addict change or overcome their behavior. A critical component of the addiction

recovery process is recognizing and understanding the underlying pain of addiction.

Addicts must be equipped with the appropriate tools to deal with their addictive behavior

and unhealthy patterns for successful long-term recovery.
